Like Bombay, the former Victoria Terminus was also renamed several years ago. Nowadays this Gothic-styled building goes by a more exotic name: Chhatrapati Shivaji.

I had to Google him a little, but apparently he is an Indian warrior king, who lived in the 17th century. He is considered to be a national hero and honoured for being at the cradle of the Indian Independence Movement, as well as for being the founder of the Maratha Empire. It sounds like he was a solid military strategist and a very busy man, indeed…

And apparently, last Wednesday was his birthday… 🙂

  1. Thanks for letting me camp out in your blog for a little while today. I had a great time and tried to leave my campsite as good as when I arrived. I’ll be back!
