The windows of the world are covered with rain, where is the sunshine we once knew?

– ‘The Windows of the World’ by Burt Bacharach –

One of my favourite subjects to photograph nowadays are windows (and doors), in every country I visit. They feel like you can have a little peek into other people’s lives. A glimpse through the glass to see what their home is like.

Home is a very personal space. It is where you can be truly yourself. It is often an expression of yourself, reflected in the way you choose to decorate it (or not). What furniture makes you feel comfortable, what colours you find pleasing. Do you like it to be organised, or do you like a nice clutter?

Like eyes are regarded to be windows to see into someone’s soul, sometimes you just need to look into a real window to get a similar glance into someone’s personality…
