SLR – See Love Remember

Weekly Photo Challenge: Merge

© See Love Remember, 2012

Oi… this week it was quite the challenge!

I had some pretty cool ideas on ‘merging’ and ‘blending’, but sadly enough I think my muse is on holidays – for her sake I hope to the Maldives or some other really nice, exotic place 😉

So, it all kinda converged to: nothing.

Time to pull open the old box. And after some digging… ta-da!

I think that most people have seen this image before in various travel guides etc. It was taken at Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya, Thailand.

Once Ayutthaya was the capital of Siam – Thailand, with Wat Mahathat at its centre. Until it got invaded by the Burmese army. Many of the Buddha statues of the temple got destroyed by having their heads lopped off.

It is unclear though how this particular Buddha head got merged with the roots of the tree…

… but it makes a lovely, peaceful sight 🙂
