Weekly Photo Challenge: Growth

© See Love Remember, 2012

August 4th, Gay Pride Parade, Amsterdam.

If there is anything that still has plenty of room for growth it’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights.

The Amsterdam Pride Parade is generally a colourful bunch of happy people. With the Netherlands being the first country where same-sex marriages were legalised, it is mainly a party event here.

You will find boats hosted by the government, the Amsterdam police force, several big Dutch cities and companies – all showing their support for the LGBT community.

However, I fear that full-100%-acceptance will never really get there unfortunately. Not as long as there are still individuals that have thoughts along the lines of: If I’m ok with gay rights… I must be gay…

But it’s simple really: Gay rights are human rights.

  1. Nice!!! Plus i love the hats….! 😛

  2. Agree on plenty of room for growth in this area of human rights. Here in the U.S., members of the military were finally allowed to march in a gay rights parade recently.
