I literally walked into this Creative Expression!
Earlier this month, two poets from Utrecht started a project called: The Letters of Utrecht.
Their idea? Every week, on Saturday 1 pm, a stone mason will carve out a new letter into the stones along the canal.
Over months, these will form words.
Over decades, they will form sentences of a poem.
And over centuries, this string of words will form the outline of a new word visible on the city map!
The letters dating back to January 1st 2000 have been ‘published’ in retrospect and what is yet to come remains a secret – as no one knows yet how it will continue.
An organic process. A never-ending poem.
This particular part reads Je bent, zoals [… je weet, van dit verhaal de spil.] – You are as [… you know, of this story the pivot.]
