Weekly Photo Challenge: Summer

Summer is my favourite season by far.

Maybe it is because it’s my Birthday in the summer.

But most likely it has to do with the weather.

To me summer is not confined to the months of June, July, August or September. It is any day that is over 20 degrees C, with a clear blue sky (and preferably no work ;))

Summer is that time of year when you have a holiday. When you can relax. Sit in the sun. Meet friends for a picnic in the park.

You can smell summer in freshly mown grass. Or when raindrops fall on dry soil – such an earthy smell. That smell of your skin when you spend the day outside in the sun.

Luckily we have three more seasons – to make me appreciate summer so much more once it has arrived!

Weather today, May 25^th: 26°C, no rain, no work (grade: 10/10) → summer! 🙂
