S is for the Salt of the Earth

Naavadaticha mitha aalani.

Someone once told me this Marathi saying. It was difficult to translate exactly, but I remember that it roughly meant

Even salt tastes saltless when it is offered by a person you don’t like

I’ve always felt that was very poetic and it’s an expression I like a lot. However, I’m sure he would not be able to call these salts tasteless.

Pale blue salt from Persia.

Black volcanic salt from Hawaii.

Pink salt from the Himalayas.

The salt of our Earth πŸ˜‰
