Weekly Photo Challenge: Distorted

When the Weekly Photo Challenge of this week was presented – Distorted – only one image immediately came to mind.

This is one of my favourite pictures. I love the colour – how the photo mainly consists of blue/green, white/beige and red/brown, all nicely layered. The horizontal and vertical lines.

But most of all I love the way it is distorted – the way that distortion results in slanted walls and lamp posts, guiding the eye towards the tip of the tower.

I took this picture with my ultra-wide angle lens. One of the ‘disadvantages’ of these kind of lenses is that they distort your view, particularly on the edges.
